First stage

• DS4 first stage — no rotating turret.
• Over-balanced diaphragm design: as the diver descends, the over-balancing feature allows the medium-pressure gas in the hose to increase at a rate faster than ambient, delivering superior performance at depth.
• Environmental dry system keeps water out of the main spring chamber to prevent ice buildup and keep silt and contamination out.

Second stage

• Pneumatically-balanced second stage for smooth, easy breathing.
• XTX two-stage progressive purge: side purge for lower flow (useful for controlled tasks such as filling lift bags) and center purge for full flow when clearing the regulator.
• Large venturi lever with soft-touch rubber grip for easy locating and use; the lever reduces grit ingress and helps maintain smooth operation.
• Active antimicrobial protection: molded parts contain an additive effective against MRSA, E. coli, bacteria, fungi, viruses, mould, yeast, and algae.
• Silicone exhaust valve to improve breathing performance.
• Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece designed to minimize jaw fatigue.
• Patented heat exchanger surrounding the valve mechanism dissipates cold caused by gas expansion while drawing in ambient water warmth.
